Mercy Ministry

What is mercy ministry?

Mercy Ministry focuses on finding and meeting “felt” needs in our community. Although many people do not feel their need for Jesus, all individuals feel their need for food, water, relationships of love and trust, and medical treatment. One way we meet these felt needs is through partnerships.

We partner with organizations that serve the needy in our community. Support may consist of providing volunteers, supplies, financial support, or a combination of the three. The mercy team prayerfully considers partnerships based on meaningful impact, holistic change, church value alignment, and relationship-building opportunities.

OUR PARTNERS

VISION

Our measure of success is kingdom impact. Rather than focusing on metrics such as money raised or number of projects completed, we look for relationships developed and lives changed.

Our vision is for every member of Doxology Church to be engaged in mercy. We believe that Mercy Ministry can help us live out our faith, glorify God, and point others to Him (James 2:15-17, Matthew 5:16, 1 Peter 2:12).

Mercy ministry is not an end, but a means to an end—the spread of God’s kingdom. The goal of mercy cannot be simply to feed as many people as we can, but to bring Christ’s lordship over their whole lives and the social systems in which they live.
